Dancers must attend an in-person audition or submit a video audition. See our Audition Page for guideline and Audition Tour locations and dates.

Yes. Attending each year’s audition enables us to consider you for scholarships and, if interested, the Edinburgh Connection Program.

Audition results will be sent out, via emails within 2 weeks of the Audition date. Scholarship notifications are sent out throughout the audition tour. Edinburgh Connection notifications will be sent out at the completion of the Audition tour.

Your 20% non-refundable deposit reserves your spot in the order payments are received. The balance of the season’s tuition is due no later than May 1st.  Payments are made through your Studio Pro portal at any time.

Burklyn Ballet Theatre offers a limited number of scholarships ranging from $100-$500. Dancers are automatically considered for talent-based scholarships during the audition. Scholarship notifications are sent throughout the audition tour.

If you would like to request consideration for a needs based scholarship you can submit the following information to [email protected] 

  • A statement of what you hope to get out of the program, any additional talents you have that could add to Burklyn, i.e. photography, video editing, writing, interview skills.
  • A statement from your dance instructor on how they believe you would benefit from our program and what growth they may be looking for you to experience from a summer intensive.
  • How long are looking to attend – 2, 3,4 or 6 weeks. 

A BBT staff member will personally meet all dancers who submit a “request for travel assistance” online form. Online Travel Form must be completed by June 15th of each year and payment made by June 20th of each year  

Pick-ups can happen from the Patrick Leahy Burlington International Airport (BTV), Bus stations in Burlington, Essex or Waterbury VT, and Train stations in Essex or Waterbury VT. There is an additional fee for this service. We may use an outside company or our own vans & drivers.  

If you are arriving by car, visit our Location Page for a Google Map of Vermont State University – Johnson. Upon arrival on campus, follow the signs to the Burklyn registration. There room assignments, keys and information packet will be given out, parent’s questions answered. Burklyn swag will be available for purchase at that time as well. 

 

 

Car, Plane, Bus or Tain

If you take a plane, bus or train, a BBT staff member will personally meet all dancers who submit a “request for travel assistance” online form.  Forms will be provided in April after you have already registered and must be completed by June 15th. There is an additional fee for this service. We may use an outside company or our own vans & drivers.

The local airport is  Patrick Leahy Burlington International Airport (BTV).  There are Bus stations in Burlington, Essex or Waterbury VT, and Train stations in Essex or Waterbury VT.

If you are arriving by car, visit our  Location Page for a google map of Vermont State University – Johnson.  Upon arrival on campus, follow the signs to the Burklyn Registration. There are several branches of Vermont State University, make sure you are headed to JOHNSON, VT.

Upon completion of our audition tour, we will email you our Handbook that will contain a packing list along with other details. 

We have learned from past history that dancers from the same studio rooming together at summer intensives can sometimes lead to issues at their home studios in the fall so we prefer not to room them together, however they can request to be suitemates. This form will be sent out with our document library information in April.

Our Intermediate and Young Men’s programs dancers can request a specific roommate.

Yes, the staff at Vermont State University – Johnson will speak to any dancer who needs dietary accommodations. They have a dedicated gluten free section already but will work with dancers’ other food requirements.

Please email at [email protected]  prior to your dancer’s arrival to let us know of any allergies and or dietary restrictions.

YES if we have room available in the dorms in the following week your dancer can absolutely stay an extra week. Please contact us at [email protected] if this is what your dancer would like to do and we can make arrangements with you. 

Yes, of course. We just ask they let their counselor know and that they be back on campus by 9pm and when they return they check in with their counselor. 

Yes, if we receive an email at [email protected] stating you give permission no later than 5pm Saturday. Your dancer will need to check in/out with their counselor and be back on campus before 9pm.
